The first page number after each translation indicates the juan and page number in the standard edition used (see note 3 to Chapter 1.) Poems from the supplement are marked buyi ;ffl1:it. If there is a second page number it refers to modern selections of Yuan Mei's works consulted for the translations, which are distinguished as follows: without a preceding letter, Li Lingnian et al.; preceded by an a, Wang Mingchao ed.; preceded by b, Zhou Gemin; preceded by a c, Wang Yingzhi, Yuan Mei shixuan.
