ABSTRACT

Many of the chapters in this book are directed at providing homework, handouts, activities, or interventions for individual, couple, or family clients. However, this chapter is dedicated to therapists who have experienced a medical trauma, severe illness, loss/death, or disability in their life and have an interest in providing clinical care in medical contexts or with families facing illness or loss. This task is intended for beginning therapists who recognize the importance of understanding and revisiting their self-of-the-therapist throughout their growth as a therapist.
