ABSTRACT

I (IKB) was busy getting ready to begin the lecture to teachers and invited guests from the school district in the Garza Independence High School auditorium one winter morning. A good-looking African-American student walked up to me and offered me assistance. He asked if there was anything he could do to help me. Surprised and delighted at this offer, I began chatting a bit and this young man started talking to me in Japanese. I was surprised and caught off guard, but we exchanged a few words about his dream to visit Japan some day.
