ABSTRACT
This paper is divided into three parts. First, it will analyse the recent urbanisation trends in the Third World and highlight some of the major problems being faced by policymakers and residents in the light of accelerating urban growth without commensurate resources to deal with it. These problems will worsen in the foreseeable future given trends in population growth and concentration.
