ABSTRACT

Aer training in a lockstep paradigm, Wallerstein became interested in learning about the frameworks of his international colleagues. Based on these engagements, he formulated his famous query “One Psychoanalysis or Many?” He favored searching for common ground. In fact, he thought we already had it, at least in clinical practice. Believing we might never achieve theoretical unity, he thought struggling toward that goal might be a waste of time.
