ABSTRACT
Two distinct directions in space militarization have recently emerged — the creation of anti-satellite weapons (ASAT) and the development of space-based anti-missile systems (SBAMS). These two directions, I believe, are closely meshed with the problems of strategic balance and stability, and with prospects for substantial nuclear reductions.
