The Rationale for Rejecting Nuclear Weapons

[…] The pros and cons of nuclear deterrence, and of Britain’s retaining a nuclear capacity, have been widely debated. ¹ It is not therefore our intention here to repeat all these arguments, but simply to indicate some of the principal reasons why the Commission’s work is based on the proposition that Britain should reject a nuclear-based defence, and look towards alternative strategies.
