ABSTRACT
This chapter covers the basic features available within most
learning management systems (LMSs). The names of the
tools/features may vary across LMSs. We try to cover the most
common alternatives.
While it is certainly possible to teach an online course without
an LMS, their use is so widespread that we felt it was
necessary to provide a general overview of LMS features.
