ABSTRACT

Let’s now see how the material covered comes together in an

online lesson. Terminology for online course design varies.

We will begin by reviewing the terms we use and how we

use them.

The lesson is the core learning component. Lessons may or

may not be grouped into units. Typically, in a non-intensive

class (e.g. 15 weeks), there may be 1 lesson per week or,

perhaps, 1 lesson that lasts over 2 weeks. In an intensive class

(i.e. the same class compressed into 6 weeks), there may be

more than 1 lesson per week.
