ABSTRACT

Phobos and Deimos – Fear and Terror – were born of Aphrodite and her illicit relationship with Ares, god of war and of violent deaths, ‘the straight-limbed, impetuous, drunken, and quarrelsome God of War’ (Graves, 1955, p. 67), who in all of Greece had only one temple in his honor. Phobos and Deimos fought with him, and they were sadistic and bloodthirsty.
