ABSTRACT
In the past 10 years, I have done two studies that focus on “globalized” workers, more specifi cally migrant Filipina workers, the fi rst being my comparative study of migrant Filipina domestic workers in Rome and Los Angeles and the second being my ongoing study on migrant Filipina entertainers in Tokyo’s nightlife industry. Th e other, which is the second study I undertook, did not focus on the workers per se but instead it addressed the situation of the children of migrant workers who have been left behind in the Philippines.
