ABSTRACT
There has been much speculation in physics on the origins of the universe, string theory, and the understanding of the ethereal fabric of which we are made. This fabric that pertains to the essence of matter and energy in the universe includes the human imprint from the Creator at the moment of creation. Can we link this energy in a continuum from the moment of the origin of the universe to the modern athlete and beyond? For if this energy continuum can be seen as plausible, then it fi lls a gap and aids the modern sport philosopher in understanding how the impetus to play within the element of sport helps us transcend our base nature, and advance humankind as part of the energy of the expanding universe.
