ABSTRACT

A great richness of approaches and materials is now available for humanities teaching and learning. This chapter focuses on one part of this richness, the development and use of simulations. In particular it outlines how the technique has advanced, indicates some of the new opportunities and problems that have arisen from the use of computers, and considers some of the requirements for achieving good use of CAL simulations. It also offers information about various resources for teachers interested in simulation and computer assisted learning (CAL).
