ABSTRACT

The model of once-a-week training sessions is considered ideal; however, the emotional needs, availability, or schedule of parents or children may necessitate consideration of other sequences of training sessions. The traditional concept of scheduling once-a-week sessions does not always match the dynamic needs of a family. A week between sessions can be a terribly long time in the life of a family in the midst of trauma or crisis. We have achieved positive results in adapting the 10-session CPRT model to meet the emotional and situational needs of families.
