ABSTRACT

A CBT practitioner needs to be properly trained. Typically, training requirements for developing CBT competencies are determined by national professional organizations, which outline standards that need to be met in order to become an accredited practitioner in the delivery of psychosocial therapies. Delivering the CBT interventions described in this book will require a minimum level of competency in CBT. Furthermore, training in CBT ideally needs to be supplemented by experience in core counselling and motivational skills, and in working with problem drinkers.
