ABSTRACT

Workplace trauma is unique but ubiquitous. Different forms of trauma, ranging from bullying and harassment to natural disasters and acts of terrorism, contribute to the increasing number of traumatic exposures in today’s workplace that can affect the performance and productivity of employees and clients at all levels. Organisations have a vested interest in mitigating the impact of workplace trauma, a responsibility to identify those in need of care and to make state-of-the-art secondary prevention treatment readily available. Consequently, the demand for crisis management is a major public health issue worldwide.
