ABSTRACT

Zana was the victim of repeated sexual abuse by a neighbor, a Native American and part-African American male, during the summer when she was 8 years old. The abuse included intercourse and penetration by numerous objects. Even though Zana and her family reported the offense to the police, a miscommunication between the Child Protection Agency and the police resulted in the perpetrator not being prosecuted, unfortunately. He still lived in Zana’s neighborhood at the time of this sandplay process.
