ABSTRACT
In this chapter, a number of other ceremonies and life crises will be considered. One of the purposes of this is for comparison so that the rites associated with marriage may be assessed in a wider context of ceremonial and celebration. Many of these events also provide excellent illustration of some of the broader implications of marriage, and the relations and obligations established at this time.
