ABSTRACT
The ecological university is a university whose time has come. This timing is a complex of circumstances. The time is such that the ecological university can be glimpsed, both as an idea and in its institutional form. The time is such also that the world needs its universities to be ecological. And the time is such that the world is already encouraging forward, albeit hesitantly, its universities in an ecological spirit.
