ABSTRACT
Over the past decade, a new approach to the science of network dynamics has deepened our understanding of how networks-ranging from the World Wide Web to biological systems-evolve and become robust. This new thinking has upended the traditional views of network managers everywhere. In particular, it has challenged supply chain managers to examine long-held assumptions about the relative constancy and stability of global supply chain designs.
