ABSTRACT

When I am working on a performance I don’t feel as though I already have something predetermined to say and that I only have to find how to say it. I have a starting point, a pretext, some questions or concerns that initiate a process at the end of which I will discover what I have to say. Sometimes I become aware that I have expressed something particular because of a spec - tator’s way of looking at me, or hugging me and crying after the performance. In those moments words are superfluous.
