ABSTRACT

Not all that long ago, in a country not so very far away, a small band of travelers set out in search of the legendary Wizard of Santa Cruz in the fabled state of Oz (more commonly known, these days, as California). They were four: the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and some young girl named Dorothy. Typical citizens of the Western world at the start of the second millennium, they all shared but a single overriding goal: What can the Wizard do for me?
