ABSTRACT
As we delve into discussion of the Earth and its place in the solar systems and universe, you will see that many of the essential concepts relate to each of the previous sections. Life on Earth (Section 2) has affected and continues to affect the nature of the Earth system and the Earth System has and continues to affect life. Ecology (Section 3) itself is the juncture of interactions between Earth and its living systems. The principles of physics and chemistry (Section 4) govern the Earth’s systems and the nature and properties of its materials, as well as the behavior of the Earth, Moon, solar system, and the features of the universe beyond. As you read through this section, keep these other sections in mind and refer to them as needed.
