ABSTRACT

I’m facilitating a summer “awayday” for a clinical team battling the weight of National Health Service (NHS) expectations. Optimum targets should be “stretching but not impossible,” apparently. Those handed down from above for this team seem all but impossible, what with a couple of team members on maternity leave, a clinician’s post still unfilled after someone left, and an ongoing debate about whether this busy team needs more than 6 hours a week of administration time. Oh, and that tiny, cramped office where everyone shares desks.
