ABSTRACT

MISJUDGEMENT A young man who was quite severely depressed and very frightened to go out and be “around people” was making some great strides in getting better. So I asked him what would be the best he could hope for if he was really, really better. He replied that he would love to go and watch his local football (soccer) team play, but the crowd of 12,000-15,000 was too scary. This team had been relegated from the English Premier Division, down to the next division, so I said, “Mmmmm, so you want to go and see Barnsley play? No wonder you’re depressed!”
