ABSTRACT
This chapter involves crises and near-crises relating to transportation. They show that crisis communicators must cope with near-crises and preventing crises, and that job is nearly as demanding as actual tragedies. The case study, “Metro Transit: Driver Shot, Bus Flies Off a Bridge,” on page 275, could also have been in this category.
