ABSTRACT
As the previous chapters have laid out the concepts, ideas, and potential areas of application for the theory of information worlds, this chapter will wrap together the ideas introduced in the book and examine the future directions of these concepts, including ways in which the theory of information worlds can be used in different research contexts. A key part of this chapter is the analysis of the research questions and opportunities raised by the concept of information worlds for LIS and other disciplines that study the social and political aspects of information. This chapter also refl ects on the ways in which the theory of information worlds can serve as a theoretical driver across disciplines to advance understandings of the social and political roles of information in society.
