ABSTRACT

Psychology is the science of mind and behaviour; it seeks to understand behaviour and mental processes. It is clear, then, that psychology has a big part to play in conflict management and dispute resolution. This is a book about conflict management and dispute resolution, not a book about psychology, but two psychological techniques are chosen. The two techniques: the study of body language and the prediction of lying (or at least mendacity). These two techniques show the attraction of genuine psychology to conflict management and dispute resolution and the dangers of dipping into a rigorous science and using techniques without proper understanding.
