ABSTRACT
References to The Blues Foundation (a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee) are ubiquitous on the web. It has over 165 affiliated blues organizations and memberships around the world. Founded in 1980, its primary mission is the preservation of blues history. It sponsors The Blues Hall of Fame and carries out annual inductions of pioneers. It also pays tribute to legendary artists with its Lifetime Achievement Award, historically presented in Los Angeles. There are other several traditional programs conducted by the organization including Blues in the Schools.
