Maclntyre, Alasdair (b. 1929) Contemporary moral philosopher, probably best known for his ideas about discourse and ethics, and about rationality and virtue-centered morality. Much of his writing involves critical inquiry into the relationship of classical philosophy to current issues in religion, sociology, and education.
