ABSTRACT
The bulk of the empirical research in this book has examined the regulatory activity that took place in the EU from the issuing of the FSAP in 1999 to its near completion after 2004. However, just as the new regulatory framework for financial services came into force in the EU, Europe was hit by global financial turmoil.
