ABSTRACT

When you need to routinely create reports of similar styles (e.g., company branded reports), you may consider creating a document template, in which you can specify the required YAML metadata and a sketch of the report. A template can have supporting files, such as images, CSS files, or LaTeX style files. When creating a new R Markdown document with this template, these supporting files will be automatically copied to the folder containing the R Markdown document. For more sophisticated reports (in terms of typesetting), you may also provide a custom Pandoc template for the document template. Document templates are often shipped in R packages.
