ABSTRACT

Embedded within a school’s multitiered system of support are approaches to provide targeted support at Tier 2 for students with ongoing needs. Many approaches to Tier 2 support exist, such as Check-In/Check-Out and group-based skills training. Many approaches used by schools do not integrate parents in Tier 2 support, which may limit impact on valued outcomes for children. The Coping Power Program is a Tier 2 intervention that can be embedded in a school’s multitiered system of support. Coping Power promotes active and engaged roles for families as partners to enhance academic and emotional and behavioral outcomes for children.
