ABSTRACT

Within a multitiered, school-based framework, Tier 3 interventions provide individualized assessment and intervention for children with intense support needs. Tier 3 interventions may be most effective when implemented in the context of systematic, data-based approaches at Tier 1 and Tier 2. Bringing together families and educators as co-equal partners in Tier 3 interventions provides a model to identify shared strengths and needs, develop supports for children across and within settings, coordinate care with parents and teachers, and evaluate progress toward shared goals.
