ABSTRACT

This book has brought together practical experience of EU structural policies in different European regions. It has provided different perspectives on the operation of the policies from people closely involved in studying, managing or advising on the process. We hope it offers a more comprehensive and detailed understanding of the Structural Funds than has been available before. This final chapter seeks to summarise the key issues emerging from the preceding chapters and, taking an EU-wide view, to lay out an agenda for reform in the light of past weaknesses and future challenges.
