Disability as a social construct

In this chapter Mårten Söder discusses the ways in which social factors affect the nature of disability and our understanding of it. He concentrates on a discussion of labelling theory and argues that proponents of integration have systematically misunderstood it. He suggests that they believe that integration avoids labelling and that integrationists deny the significance and experience of disability.
