Henry J. Todd, ‘Origin of Comus’, Comus, A Mask (Canterbury, 1798), 50–62. The first section (to p. 397) was written by Thomas Warton: Todd printed ‘Origin of Comus’ from Poems Upon Several Occasions (1791), pp. 135–6, into which he inserted ‘Appendix to the Notes on Comus’ pp. 591–3 of the 1785 edition, and then added his own discussion.
