'A Parallel' betwixt [Ozells 'Cato of Utica'] and Addison's 'Cato', 1716
Appended to John Oze11's translation of Deschamps's 'Cato of Utica. A Tragedy' was 'A Parallel betwixt this Piece and the Tragedy of Cato written by Mr Addison'.
The printed version of 'Caton d'Utique' circulated in London in 1715, and it acquired new interest in 1716 when Addison's 'Cato' was revived at the Drury Lane Theatre for intermittent performances between February and May. In response to this revival Ozell translated the play and watched the first of its three performances on 14 May 1716 .
