Extracts from Joseph Cradock’s Literary and Miscellaneous Memoirs dealing with Goldsmith, 1826
Joseph Cradock (1742-1826) of Gumley was a friend and sometime collaborator of Goldsmith's. He had helped Goldsmith to sell his poems and wrote the epilogue to Goldsmith's play She Stoops to Conquer. These selections, printed here in condensed form, are culled from the London edition of Cradock' s Literary and Miscellaneous Memoirs, printed for J. Nichols and Son, 1826, 4 vols, i, 228-36; iv, pp. 279-88.
