Elizabeth Barrett Browning on the poetry of Goldsmith, in a letter to Hugh Stuart Boyd, 1842[?]
This letter by the well-known poetess is quoted from the Unpublished Letters of Elizabeth Barrett Browning to Hugh Stuart Boyd, ed. by Barbara P. McCarthy, New Haven, 1955, pp. 25o-1. It was probably composed in 1842 when the correspondents were having a friendly quarrel over the literary merits of Wordsworth.
