ABSTRACT
James Anderson, Ll.D. (1739–1808), an economist and student of ‘scientific farming’, wrote on agriculture in the Monthly Review for several years. He was a friend of Thomas Blacklock. In 1790 Burns subscribed to his literary and scientific magazine, the Bee (see No. 14 and Introduction, p. 18).
