Rodolph Louis Mégroz (1891–1968), b. in London, claimed ‘Pyrenean bandits and East Anglian farmers as ancestors’. He was a poet and critic with many books to his name, some of a 262Catholic-modernist interest, Walter de la Mare (1923), The Three Sitwells (1926), Francis Thompson (1927).
