ABSTRACT

Mairet (b. 1886) was educated at the Hornsey School of Art and worked as a draughtsman and designer of stained and painted church windows. He became the literary editor of the New English Weekly when it was founded in 1932, and succeeded A. R. Orage as editor in 1934. Mairet is the author of A. R. Orage: A Memoir (1936) and translator of various works from the French. He reviewed Pound's ABC of Reading in New English Weekly (14June 1934).
