ABSTRACT
It is of the nature of apprenticeship that the costs of training are to be balanced by the apprentice's contribution to production; more than that, the employer is entitled to make a profit from the apprentice's service during the period of apprenticeship. In these circumstances, it is difficult to draw the line between the legitimate exercise of the employer's right and the use of his apprentices simply as cheap labour.
