THE GROWTH OF CHILD WELFARE SERVICES 100
Children who are certified as mentally deficient enter the Special School at the age of seven, and they are compelled to stay there until the age of sixteen. The school premises are old and inadequate and have recently been condemhed. There is not sufficient accommodation for the number of children who are certified as mentally deficient. Facilities for vocational training are lacking as well. An effort is made, however, to give the children as much physical exercise as possible.
