ABSTRACT

Before taking up with you the sympathetic and endocrine reactions in the psychoneurotics, I want to remind you that, in the concentric method of diagnosis of the psychoneurotic, there is the need to investigate in succession the psychic zone, neurological zone, endocrine zone, the visceral zone, and last the morbific kernel. I have seen with pleasure that M. Achard, in his opening lecture to his class at the Beaujon Hospital, has demonstrated a method which corresponds to what I have called the diagnosis in depth, 1 and it is very true that there is only one way of getting to the bottom of the patients’ conditions and making a complete diagnosis.
