ABSTRACT

The delirious reactions are the result of disorder of the brain caused by poor support of its functions. The causes may be of an infectious, toxic, metabolic, circulatory, or traumatic origin. These illnesses are of particular interest since they constitute the most frequent type of psychosis encountered in general medical practice. They are generally cared for in the medical or surgical wards of regular hospitals especially when the delirium is part of an intercurrent illness.
