E. PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS USING PSYCHOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES―A BRIEF REVIEW
Pages 6

Significant changes have been found in three investigations using the Wechsler scale (Koskoff et al., 1948; Malmo, 1948; Petrie, 1948c). These were carried out on seven, six and twenty patients respectively. The first group were cases of intractable pain and were retested three months after the operation. Losses tended to be greater on the verbal than on the performance scale in four investigations based on the scores of seven, twenty, two and one patients respectively (Koskoff et al., 1948; Petrie, 1948c; Yacorzynski et al., 1948; Jones, 1949).
