ABSTRACT

DR. GREEF gives an interesting summary of the most recent additions made by Ramon y Cajal 1 to our knowledge of the structure of the retina; the subject, up to the stage of its development here described, has been made most accessible to the non-specialist reader in Die Retina der Wirbelthiere (Wiesbaden, 1894) by Dr. Greef, who has also made contributions of his own to the work of the Spanish author. The most interesting points now made out (which may be added, for the English reader, to the excellent account in the System of Diseases of the Eye, by Norris and Oliver) are the following:—
