ABSTRACT

Reference has already been made to the general doctrine that thought of some kind goes on at all the levels of the mind. Not only do we strenuously undertake a direct solution of the problems met with in life in a consciously applied way, but often below the conscious surface mental work of significance for development is accomplished. There are degrees of consciousness, which is probably only another way of saying that there are degrees of mental application. Some evidence that thinking of a kind goes on unconsciously is found in the general experience of dreams.
